Â
Hey beautiful
Resting in faith is powerful. It’s an act of warfare.
In Joshua 5, after the Israelites crossed the Jordan and before taking possession of the Promised Land, they camped at Gilgal.
This was a place of reflection, circumcision, and preparation. The Lord said to Joshua, “This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you.”
Reproach refers to God’s judgment against stubbornness and serves as a reminder of how the people had strayed from His promises. Gilgal, meaning “a wheel, rolling,” symbolizes the place where God removes the shame of sin and death.
Before they could take the land that was promised to them, they had to camp at Gilgal and allow God to finish His work in them. This wasn’t just a geographical location; it was a spiritual milestone.
I believe this is where we are right now .
At Gilgal, the Israelites experienced both the cutting away of the old (through circumcision) and the restoration of their identity as God’s chosen people. The old generation that had come out of Egypt was now laid to rest. The new generation was being consecrated for the task ahead (that’s us!).
God was preparing them for what they could not yet see but what He had already promised.Â
This was a time of stillness, recovery, a time of reflection, and a time of rest before they entered the land of conquest.
As we stand at the threshold of a new season, we are reflecting on what God has done in us and allowing Him to finish His work of preparation for the new.Â
The pruning, the struggles, and the lessons you’ve learned this past year have not been wasted . God has been getting you and I ready to step into new opportunities and blessings in 2025.
We may not yet see everything that’s coming, but we can trust that God is faithful to finish the work He has started in us.Â
Rest and reflection are essential before moving forward.Â
After the battle and before the breakthrough, there is a time to rest in God’s presence. To trust that He has already gone ahead of us.
Just like the warfare in the Bible before entering the Promised Land, we’ve been in a battle. But here’s the good news: we are standing on the edge of the Promised Land, about to step into the fullness of God’s promises.Â
It may have felt like a long and challenging season, but it has been a time of preparation and pruning.Â
God, in His kindness, has cut away the old vines, refined our hearts; readying us for something new.Â
He desires us to enter the promise clean and restored, for only then can we truly thrive in the land He has prepared for us.Â
We can’t take the old mindsets into the new if we want to prosper. God desires that we thank Him for the lessons of the past and see them as hills we’ve conquered, stepping stones to higher spiritual maturity.
Rest, my friend. The enemy can’t touch you in the rest gifted to us by our wonderful Prince of Peace.
As we enter this new season, God calls us to trust Him fully and to obey His lead.
There’s something beautiful that God wants to remind you of as you stand at this threshold.Â
Haggai 2:9, God says, “The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house”.Â
John 2:10 echoes this when Jesus turned water into wine. He saves the best wine until last.
The best is yet to come . The season you’re stepping into will outshine the one that’s past. Forget the past. Don’t bring the old into the new. It will break the new wineskin!Â
The joy that’s coming will be greater than any sorrow.Â
The breakthrough that’s ahead will be more glorious than the battles you’ve fought.Â
What God has for you in 2025 will be better than anything you’ve experienced before.
Darkness will increase, but the bride (His church), and the light of Jesus will increase simultaneously. And which side wins; light or dark?
This is your season of restoration, and it’s going to be greater than what you thought was possible.Â
Just like the best wine came last at the wedding, God is saving the best for you—and it’s coming at the right time.Â
You’re stepping into a time of beauty, of increase, and of glory that will far surpass the former seasons.
In 2 Samuel 5 David sought God’s guidance about fighting the Philistines. He asked God, “Shall I go up against the Philistines?” God said: “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.”
God gave David a unique sign. He said:Â
“When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly, for then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” (2 Samuel 5:24)
David had to wait for the sound of the Spirit and His angel troops—the sound of God’s presence moving ahead of them—before he could move.Â
The Israelites couldn’t go ahead of God. And neither should we.Â
David was a man who trusted God. They had to wait for the sign that God was already going ahead of them to defeat the enemy.
In the same way, resting in God’s peace means waiting for that sound—waiting for the movement of His Spirit. Don’t listen to man. Get in your prayer closet and listen to God only. He speaks to you and His sheep hear His voice.Â
It’s not a passive rest; it’s a rest that is in tune with the Spirit of God, a rest that flows with His timing and direction.Â
When we rest in His peace, we are not stepping back in defeat. We are stepping forward in peace, knowing He goes before us.Â
Blessed are those who trust in God, not man. You can trust the lead of His Spirit, . God will defeat any enemy who dares to enter your path. He will make the way straight for you as you rest in Him.Â
Striving is of the flesh. Going with the flow of God’s Spirit is walking by faith. And we know it is impossible to please God without faith (Heb 11:6).
David didn’t have to fight until he heard the sound of God moving ahead of him. David always consulted with the Lord and obeyed Him.
Our job is to be at peace , to consult and stay in step with the Spirit, and to obey when He says follow.Â
The Holy Spirit rests upon that which He is.
God reminded His people of His provision in the desert in Deuteronomy 8:
“He led you through the vast and terrifying wilderness with its venomous snakes and scorpions, a thirsty and waterless land. He brought you water from the rock of flint. He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble you and test you, so that in the end He might cause you to prosper.” (Deuteronomy 8:15-16)
We were humbled and tested in the past season. Survival mode is behind us.Â
No longer are we called to wander through barren lands, we are called to walk into the abundance God has prepared for His bride.Â
Just like God brought water from a rock for the Israelites, He is bringing you the provision and breakthrough you need in this new season.
The Roman soldiers wore shoes with nails in the soles designed to stomp on anything in their path.Â
Peace is not passive. It’s an active defense against the enemy’s lies, against the chaos of life, and against the anxiety he tries to bring.Â
When you stand firm in God’s peace, the enemy literally can’t touch you. He’s under your feet. You bruise your heel crushing his head.Â
The enemy’s strategy is to get us below, into a place where we wrestle with anxiety, feeling like we must do it all ourselves. But chaos is not from God. God has not called you to live in turmoil or confusion. He’s called you higher.Â
God’s peace is a weapon , and when you rest in it, you are soaring high in spirit and standing firm on earth against everything that comes to try to steal your peace. Don’t fall for the enemies temptation of worry, doubt or anxiety.Â
Let’s talk about those tears you’ve shed in 2024 and past years.Â
I know it’s been a tough year for many of us. But let me remind you: your tears have watered the seed God planted in you.Â
The heartache, the waiting, the moments of deep loss—none of it has been wasted. God’s collected all your tears in His bottle and recorded each one in his book.
Every tear has nourished the soil, and now God is preparing you for a harvest that will blow your mind.
“As they pass through the Valley of Baka (tears), they make it a place of springs”. (Psalm 84:6).
You don’t see a harvest the moment you plant something.Â
You patiently wait for it to grow.Â
Nothing has been wasted . God has seen every heartache, He’s heard every prayer, and He is faithful to bring forth the fruit. We plant and water, He causes the growth.Â
Your season of tears is leading to a season of harvest and rejoicing.
Watch and see what God will do. The harvest is coming, and it will be more than you imagined.
I believe this is a time of beautification. God has highlighted to me Ecclesiastes 3 more than once the past couple of days.Â
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” (Eccl 3:1-6).
“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time.” (Eccl 3:11).
There is a time for everything, and I know the time of beautification is upon those of us who’ve remained faithful, even through trials and moments of doubt.
Ephesians 3:20 is about to come alive in your life , and you’re going to see a surprise from God that will blow your mind. Something you never saw coming. A blessing so beautiful and big, it will be a ‘blown out of the water’ experience.Â
Blown out of the water definition (verb):Â surprise greatly; knock someone’s socks off.
God is faithful . He sees you. He’s heard your prayers. And the best is yet to come.
Rest in His peace. The battle is already won.
God bless you, might woman of valour.Â
