“suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” (Romans 5:3-5)

This is email 2 of a 3-part email series on faith.

Hey beautiful

Today, I want to talk about something deeply important—how to protect your heart and faith so they stay strong.

In our last email, we talked about how to put faith into action and the power of gratitude. You can read that email here.

PS. Did you hear the exciting news? I’m creating something truly special—a new membership designed to help women deepen their faith journey. This membership will offer exclusive emails, prayer chats, Godly love letters, and even some thoughtful Christian merch to support you along the way. Be a part of a supportive community of women. I’m opening the waitlist now, so you’ll be the first to know when it launches. Get on the mailing list here and reply to an email from me the word “waitlist” to be notified. I can’t wait to tell you more soon.

I wish we didn’t need this conversation, but the reality is, your hope and your faith needs guarding.

Faith and Spiritual Protection

I grew up in a family that loved the Lord, but our home wasn’t without chaos—fights, physical abuse, and moments that shaped me in ways I’m still asking God to heal (anyone else?)

One thing I began to notice was that whenever I had a dream or strong faith in something, not many people supported it. If they did speak on it, it was often to shut it down or offer “cautious” advice like:

• “Be careful”

• “I just don’t want you to be disappointed”

These words didn’t build my faith. Instead, they planted doubt, fear, and hesitation.

Worse, what if they were right?

What if I got my hopes up and it didn’t happen?

This is exactly how the enemy works .

When you’re stepping out in faith, the enemy will do everything in his power to sow doubt, fear, and lies into your heart.

But here’s the good news my sister: God knew this would happen, and He equipped us to fight back.

He has given us spiritual armor to guard against those attacks. (Isn’t He so kind – to give us all that we need?)

In Ephesians 6:10-18, Paul teaches us about the armor of God. This armor is what protects us from the lies of the enemy, including doubt and fear.

When you feel under attack—whether spiritually or emotionally—put your spiritual armor of God on. Stand firm in the Truth (you need to know the Word. This is your belt of truth that girds you in times of testing. It will stop you from being swayed or deceived).

It is wise to guard our faith.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom 10:17)

You want to read the Word, but declare it as well. This becomes your sword. Don’t put it down. Pick it up and declare (out loud) what God’s Word says to counteract any doubt or unbelief.

If you’ve been under spiritual attack , or feel like something is weighing heavy on you—whether that’s confusion, oppression, or just plain discouragement—please know this: You are not alone.

Sometimes these things happen when there’s a breach in our spiritual defenses. But God has given us armor. The armor of God is to protect us from the enemy’s schemes.

We’re told to wear the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and carry the Sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Word.

If you feel like any part of that armor is missing or not being used, take time to put it back on.

Another powerful spiritual weapon is prayer. Prayer acts as a protective shield to your faith. It keeps your heart grounded in God’s promises, reminding you that He is faithful, that He hears your prayers, and that His timing is perfect.

We fight not with our own strength, but through the power of the Word of God and prayer.

If you’re feeling oppressed, confused, or spiritually attacked, renew your mind in the Word, declare and speak the truth over your life, and pray for God’s protection.

God’s promise is that no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” (eph 6:13-16)

Choosing to Believe

Belief is a powerful thing, . Over and over, Scripture shows that God is pleased with those who believe Him at His word.

But let’s be honest—believing isn’t always easy. When things take longer than expected, when doubt creeps in, or when circumstances seem to contradict what God has promised, it’s tempting to shrink back.

“For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” (Rom 8:24-25)

Still, faith isn’t about what we see—it’s about trusting in the unseen. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

So, how do we strengthen our belief?

• Speak life. Instead of complaining or giving in to negativity, declare God’s promises over your situation.

• Refuse to let fear dictate your faith. Don’t let past disappointments make you afraid to hope again.

• Stay in the Word. Faith grows by hearing the truth, not by rehearsing worst-case scenarios.

God honors your faith. It please Him. Not doubt, not fear—faith.

I feel like God would be saying to our faith: “Look at my girl, believing in Me despite her current circumstances. I am so pleased and I delight in her”.

Keep believing , even when it’s hard. He is faithful to His word.

Surrender to the Process

Surrendering is one of the hardest parts of walking in faith.

Sometimes, we try to force things. Like Sarah in Genesis 16, we can be tempted to take matters into our own hands instead of trusting God’s timing.

But God’s promises come to pass in His time, not ours.

If you’re waiting on a breakthrough, a dream, or a promise , don’t rush the process. God is working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it.

The paradox of Action and Waiting

Do you struggle with the balance of taking action in faith, while waiting on God’s perfect timing? (I totally resonate.)

Here’s the truth: Faith moves, but it also waits.

James 2:17 says, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Psalm 27:14 tells us, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

So which is it? Faith or waiting?

It’s both.

God’s timing isn’t passive. He’s moving and working, even when we can’t see it.

The wait isn’t a delay—it’s part of His perfect plan.

How Do You Balance Action and Waiting?

• If you’re waiting for a spouse, pray for them, but trust that God will bring the right person at the right time. Surrender to God’s perfect timing as you work on preparing yourself to be the best spouse 🙂

• If you’re waiting for a job, apply and prepare, but trust that God will open the right doors in His perfect timing.

• If you’re waiting for a promise, keep believing, but let God orchestrate the timing as you surrender your timing to His timing.

Sometimes, God has us wait because He’s refining us for what He has ahead.

Look out for the last email in this faith series where we talk about how to hold your faith through tough times.

God bless you in abundance .

Hey, I’m Sarah Rose

the girl behind Woman of Faith

Jesus has my heart, I love my Jack Russell, Bear, and all things creative and beautiful.

After striving on my own and facing heartbreak after heartbreak, I found myself brought to my knees in my dad’s living room, crying out to God. That moment marked the beginning of my journey back to my first love—Jesus.

I’m here to help women encounter His love and be transformed in their identity, so they can walk powerfully in their anointing.
