Hebrews 10:38
This is email 3 of a 3-part email series on faith. You can read email 2 here.
Hey beautiful
In this faith series, we’ve explored gratitude, action, protection and surrender. Today, let’s finish strong by focusing on two vital components of faith: joy and vision.
The last week or so has been tough for me. I realized I opened a door to the enemy, but it happened so subtly (isn’t that just how the enemy works!)
PS. Did you hear the exciting news? I’m creating something truly special—a new membership designed to help women deepen their faith journey. Looking back, I can see the open door was this offense that crept in gradually. It started with a word spoken, something I pondered, then dwelled on. From there, bitterness began to take root and spring up.
The enemy doesn’t always come at you with full force . That’s not exactly strategic. Often it starts subtle, through something small like bitterness or offense. The enemy will want you hide it in the darkness of your mind and heart, and before you know it, your insides shift from light to darkness.
You start to feel distant from the Lord. His soft voice becomes harder to hear. You struggle to read His Word or enter into worship. (Sound familiar?)
Bitterness or offense has the chance to take root if we’ve shifted out of our heavenly position.
See, when we’re grounded in the Word and secure in who we are in Christ, bitterness and offense simply roll off us like water off a duck’s back. It’s hard to stay offended when you’re in the presence of Yahweh. It’s hard to stay mad when you’re the object of His love and affection, and He yours.
If you’re feeling distant from the Lord right now, I understand (it’s the worst feeling). But don’t get trapped in shame, guilt, or sorrow. Just return back to Him and His presence. Speak words of positivity and light. You are a daughter of the King, and He delights in you. Even if you’ve messed up in some area , He just wants you to run into His arms, and He will take care of the rest 🙂
Okay, back to your faith journey! To close out this series on faith, I want to give you two practical points to keep your faith strong, even in hard times:
How do we keep our joy through trials? When our hope is fading? Or when discouragement is creeping in?
Joy isn’t just a feeling—it’s one of the greatest demonstrations of faith.
“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy” (1 Peter 1:8).
When life gets tough , it’s easy to lose joy. But we are Kingdom people, and the truth is, joy strengthens us to keep going.
It’s a choice we have to make – will we choose joy or sorrow as a result of our circumstance? When times aren’t easy, ask God and the Holy Spirit to fill you with supernatural joy, because it’s not something you can fake. We need His joy.
The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
The other day, I was feeling really down, so I went on my favorite walk by the lake and prayed for God to fill me with His joy. And He hasn’t failed me yet. Sometimes, even when I try not to smile or laugh, the Holy Spirit bursts inside of me and makes me laugh! If you haven’t asked God for His supernatural joy, I highly recommend it.
Joy is the outward expression of faith because it says, “I trust You, God, no matter my circumstances.”
Without joy, we lose the strength to move forward.
Without joy, our faith grows weak.
But when we choose joy and ask God to fill us, we’re relying on His power, and His strength activates in us. It’s His joy that carries us through the toughest times.
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
Faith isn’t just about the destination—it’s about how you walk through the process.
The joy of the Lord gives you the power to keep standing and moving forward when you feel like giving up. Ask the Lord to fill you with His joy which is fuel on your faith journey.
One of the biggest faith derailers is losing sight of your vision.
Whether it’s a promise God gave you, a vision for your future, a prophetic word, or even a dream in your heart that may have been placed there by God Himself—keep your eyes and heart fixed on that vision.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus, not the world, or we risk sinking into the sin of our flesh, just like Peter did when he took his eyes off Jesus. Set the eyes of your heart on God’s vision for you to run your race with hope and endurance.
Here’s how you can apply having vision in your daily life:
Wage War Over It:
God is the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
If He started it , He’ll finish it.
If He gave you a promise, it will not return void.
It will be done in His perfect timing. But we must partner with God—receive the Word, believe it, and wage warfare with it.
To see God’s promises fulfilled in your life, stay focused on Him and the vision He’s given you. Distractions, disappointments, and delays will come, but don’t let them shake your faith. These are tests of your heart and faith.
Keep your vision clear. Write it down. Meditate on it daily. Speak it out.
Remind yourself of God’s promises. Fight to stay in His presence. Because in His presence is the fullness of joy.
Finally, here’s the most important reminder : after you’ve prayed, acted, trusted and protected your heart and faith—stand (Ephesians 6:13).
Stand on the rock of your salvation, . Don’t waver.
He’s working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it or feel it. Just like He promised in His Word, He will fulfill His good plans for you.
Keep standing firm in your faith. Declare your authority and God’s Word to ward off the darts of the enemy that want you to live in doubt and unbelief. And keep your eyes on Jesus, the vision, while protecting your heart, and trusting in His perfect timing.
God bless you in abundance .
